Local to Dundalk

Built for Dundalk gardens.

Dundalk is our home town and our busiest patch. We are out in gardens here most weeks, from the newer estates on the edge of town like Muirhevnamor, Hoey’s Lane and the Bay Estate, to the established gardens around the Ramparts, Point Road and out along the Blackrock road. Being based in the town means we can usually call out to look at a job within a day or two, and we already know the ground you are building on.

Dundalk gardens cover the full range. New-build plots tend to sit a step below the back door and need a level platform built up and properly drained, while a lot of the older gardens near the town centre have tired timber decks that are long past saving. Sitting between the Cooley mountains and Dundalk Bay, the town gets its share of wet weather and wind off the sea, so we build every deck on a ventilated, drained subframe that copes with it.

Whether you are off the Castletown Road, out in Bay Estate or in one of the older terraces near the centre, the approach is the same: we come and look at the garden, talk through what would actually suit it, and put a clear written price in front of you. No pressure, no vague estimates, and the old deck taken away as part of the job.

Travel to Dundalk for a quote or a job is included, with no charge. The price we quote is the price you pay, with old-deck removal in it.

What Dundalk gardens need

Built for the ground in front of us.

Level platforms for new-builds

New estate gardens often drop below the threshold. We build the deck up to door level on a solid, drained frame so the garden works from the back door out.

Tear-out and rebuild

Plenty of town gardens have an old softwood deck on its last legs. We take it away, dispose of it, and build the replacement right.

Built for the bay weather

Between the mountains and the sea, Dundalk gets wind and damp. Ventilated subframes and the right fixings keep a deck solid for years.

What Louth customers say

Real reviews for Seamus and Pete.

"Dundalk Gardening Service provides a really excellent hard and soft landscaping service. From chatting to Seamus at initial enquiry stages, through to consultation and delivery of a really smart decking solution in my garden - Seamus and Pete were very professional, respectful and friendly."

"Can't recommend Seamus and crew enough. Customer service from initial contact was so good I cynically thought it was too good to be true. He turned up when he said he would and even phoned when running 10mins late for first appointment. He came back with price when he said he would . He started job when he said he would . His workmanship is brilliant and offered great advice and ideas. The good humour and respectful manner of he and his team around our home made the job a very positive experience. Only negative is he didn't provide us with the summer weather to allow us to enjoy more of our beautiful deck . We are very happy customers and would highly recommend Seamus and co."

Decking in Dundalk - your questions

Frequently asked.

Do you build decks across all of Dundalk?

Yes. We cover the whole town and the estates around it, from Muirhevnamor, Bay Estate and Hoey’s Lane to the older gardens near the centre, the Ramparts and out the Blackrock road. As a Dundalk-based team we can usually get out to look at a job within a day or two.

Can you build a deck on a new-build garden that sits below the back door?

That is one of the most common jobs we do in Dundalk’s newer estates. We build the deck up to the level of the back door on a solid, drained frame, so you step straight out onto it and the garden finally feels usable.

My old timber deck is rotten. Will you take it away?

Yes. Old-deck removal and disposal is included in the quote. We strip out the old deck, take it away, sort the ground underneath, and build the new one properly. You are not left with a pile of rotten timber to deal with.

Is the quote really free, with no call-out charge?

It is. We call out to your garden in Dundalk, measure up, talk through the options and come back with a clear, itemised written quote. There is no charge for that and no obligation to go ahead.

How do I get a price?

The quickest way is a message on WhatsApp to 085 168 5170 with a photo of your space. We will arrange to call out, or give you an honest steer straight away. You can also ring or use the free quote form.

We also cover Blackrock and Knockbridge and the rest of County Louth. Not sure what would suit your garden? Our guide to decking cost and decking guides are a good place to start.
